RSS Feed and its differences and similarities.

RSS Feed :

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is used for getting the list of frequently visited sites. It uses XML coded algorithm for getting those list of websites. We can create our own data feed which gives us the summaries of  posts like music, songs and any other download links for, the followers who are in need of such posts.

  • The latest updates can be obtained on finger tips, which is read by the RSS feed readers or aggregators by refreshing the RSS Feed.
  • We can remove the feed and edit the feeds as per the requirements.
  • The surfing time gets reduced as we get a list of related articles for a particular topic.
  • A feed of information is displayed on the users screen when an user  searches for the particular feed.
  • As subscription is not required,. the users doesn’t get frequent emails regarding the feeds. This prevents the junk emails.
  • In the same way if the user want to unsubscribe for an particular RSS Feed,  it does not ask for any unsubscribing questions to be answered by the user. It can be simply done by deleting the RSS Feed from Feed Reader.

  • Articles posted in RSS Feed are mainly used by beginners in various fields and not by the experts.
  • These feeds contain much of explanations and less of interactive images and graphics.
  • It does not indicate the source of website from which this article is originating.
  • It is not supported by many subscribers as it is a  new way of marketing information.
  • It gives more importance on the topics which are of less use where the user needs brief description of such topics.
  • As the unsubscription is not required for the users and thereby the subscribers who post their feeds  are finding it difficult to put up with the reason behind unsubscription as this serves as a hindrance for their improvement process.

What are Plugins and its pros and cons?

Plug-in is used to include specific abilities to our software application. It is also used to extend the functionality of a software.

The reasons for its usage:

  •  To enable third party developers to create abilities which extend an application.
  • To support easily, adding new features.
  • To reduce the size of an application.
  • To separate source codes from an application because of incompatible software licenses.

Application programming interfaces (APIs) provide a standard interface, allowing third parties to create plug-ins that interact with the host application. A stable API allows third-party plug-ins to continue to function as the original version changes and to extend the life-cycle of obsolete applications. The Adobe Photoshop and After Effects plug-in APIs have become a standard competing applications such as Corel Paint Shop Pro have adopted them.

Steps to download a sample word press plug-in:
